It will be a weekend full of fun for area pet lovers, as Greenport Village’s Harbor Pet boutique celebrates its grand reopening under new management with pets up for adoption, puppy portraits and free doggie treat samples.

Kicking off the celebration, owner Kimberly Loper will join Greenport Village officials and adoptable dogs from North Fork Animal Welfare League for a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday at 10 a.m.

Loper, who also creates “Life is Grruff” all-natural gourmet dog treats, has revamped the store, adding a bigger selection and new merchandise. Free samples of various pet foods, raffle baskets and other store specials and discounts will be offered throughout the store all weekend.

Wanting to give back to the community, Loper lined up a full weekend of informational and fun events and will donate a portion of her weekend sales to the nonprofit NFWAL, which runs the Southold Town Animal Shelter.

“Our grand reopening celebration is a great way for dog owners to meet other dog owners and pet experts in the area,” Loper said.

Adoptable dogs will be on display Friday until 2 p.m., and come 3 o’clock, dog owners are invited have their pup’s portrait drawn by artist Linda Ozelis for $15 per portrait.

On Saturday, owners can chat with a trainer from North Fork School of Dogs, getting help with “any of their doggie training dilemmas” from noon till 2 p.m.

From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. it is puppie picture time with professional pet photographer Judy McCleery.

Pictures are $10 per dog and will be printed on sight for owners to bring home.

Loper will offer refreshments and samples of her line of dog treats.

Harbor Pet is located at 25 Front Street in Greenport
